As many of us know from years of testing creams and other alternatives, dark circles are difficult to budge. This is because they're largely caused by dark tissues and blood vessels under the skin.
This is why topical treatments can only do so much. Can you completely get rid of dark circles without fillers and surgery? The only solutions were to cake on the concealer, bake it with heavy powder and apply a brightening eye treatment daily, but those fixes are only temporary. Well, we have some exciting news for you. Once a fantasy, permanent under-eye concealer tattooing now exists. Here, we explain the ins and outs of the procedure that’ll leave you looking fully refreshed and well-rested, every single morning.
Under-eye concealer tattoo is an extension of the Semi Permanent Cosmetic family. Although the method of application may differ, the concept is similar to other forms of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing like eyebrow, lipstick, and eyeliner. Essentially, the pigment is deposited into the skin to mimic the look of under-eye concealer.
Permanent Under Eye Concealer is very similar to other permanent makeup treatments, due to the pigment is deposited into the skin by handheld device .
The pigment sits one layer under the skin to act as a buffer between the source of underlying darkness and the surface of skin. The corrective pigment shows through the vessels thus the darkness underneath the eyes are not apparent. In addition to, the procedure of placing pigmentation in areas under your eyes can have a lot of appeal, as it also smooths out fine wrinkles and the overall appearance of the surface area of the skin.
What does the procedure involve?
Device is used to detect each client’s unique skin tone, to customize the pigment and ensure it matches perfectly before the start of the procedure.
Numbing cream will be applied for 20 minutes to make sure client does not feel a thing during procedure.
What's the After Care like?
The camouflaged area will become swollen and reddened after the procedure. With these steps, the healing process will be better and faster.
- The first 72 hours: Make a compress using gel ice only and cool it in the refrigerator (do not freeze it)
- After 72 hours: Stop the cold compresses and start applying the Aquaphor for one week.
- Avoid the sun until completely healed.
- Do not massage the area.
- Avoid any laser treatment on the area.
Use thin layer of Aquaphor to soothe the skin and promote healing, keep the area dry where possible and avoid applying makeup and active skincare for the first few days.
How many sessions do you need?
The ink is only Semi-Permanent.
Which means two sessions to start (often six weeks apart) and then top-ups every 2-3 years.
Are there any downsides?
The eye area typically ages faster than the rest of the skin, so there is potential for the skin to sag and therefore move the positioning of the under eye pigment.
How much does Permanent Under Eye Concealer cost?
Our price is $350, this includes a Touch Up recommended 6-8 weeks after initial session.
How long does Permanent Under Eye Concealer lasts?
It takes 1-2 treatments to cover about 80% of the dark circles. The method is for people who don’t want to wear makeup but still want to look awake. The “treatment” isn’t supposed to replace concealer, and you even might need small amounts to have a perfect look. It is virtually painless much like microblading. It lasts about 2-3 years, thus dependent upon lifestyle and skin type.
